Mr. Balcaen has been a director of Origis Energy since October 2016. He is the President of the European based investment house of Baltisse, whose focus is on real estate, private equity and asset management. The firm invests in industry, food & beverage, health care, energy and services sectors. He has extensive experience leading and growing businesses. Following the 2015 share purchase agreement of his luxury flooring company, IVC Group, to Mohawk Industries, he became a shareholder and non-executive director on the board of Mohawk Industries, a U.S. based world leader in the floor-covering sector. Balcaen set up IVC in 1997 and was the chief executive and principal shareholder until its sale to Mohawk. Mr. Balcaen also serves on the boards of Pentahold, a private equity partnership active in Belgium and Stevia One Holding, a private company active in the production of the natural high intensity sweetener Stevia. He brings international business acumen, U.S. market vision and financial expertise to the Origis Energy Board of Directors.
Mr. Paul Thiers

Paul Thiers brings decades of investment and business development acumen to his role at Origis Energy. He has been a guiding force in the company since its inception. As a non-executive director and co-founder, he currently oversees investor relations and is a member of the management committee and Board of Directors.

Prior to aligning with Origis, Mr. Thiers held the position of Co-CEO and Board Member of the Unilin Group, where he was instrumental in its explosive growth. Within Unilin, his role included being the driving force behind the initiatives with respect to renewable energy (biomass). After the acquisition of the Unilin Group by Mohawk Industries (2005), Mr. Thiers served as initiator, counselor and/or investor for several businesses such as Pentahold (private equity), Altior (executive search) and Origis Energy. Mr. Thiers is an independent board member in several companies including Deceuninck Plastics, Accent NV, Jobs for People, Vergokan and ION, real estate development.

Mr. Guy Vanderhaegen

Guy Vanderhaegen serves as Chief Executive Officer and President of Origis Energy, a multinational solar and energy storage solutions provider to utility, corporate and public-sector clients. His financial acumen has resulted in the capital investment of over $1 billion in solar photovoltaic systems throughout Europe and the United States.
Prior to starting Origis Energy in 2008, Mr. Vanderhaegen was the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and a Board Member for the publicly traded, Associated Weavers International. For ten years, he served progressively larger roles with the Belgium office of Arthur Andersen & Co. and later Deloitte. As a partner, he was responsible for the Corporate Finance department, which he co-founded. He became a Certified Public Accountant and provided financial services including mergers and acquisition (M&A) advisory, initial public offering (IPO) and fundraising advisory, due diligence, valuations, corporate recovery and strategic advice.
Mr. Raf C. Decaluwé

Mr. Decaluwé heads a private consultancy specializing in business strategy, change management and board governance for private and public companies. Throughout his career he has worked with global firms including Arthur Andersen & Co., Samsonite, Fisher-Price Toys and Black and Decker. While serving as the Chief Executive Officer of the Bekaert Group, he was instrumental in the investment by the Bekaert group in Uni Solar Inc., a producer of flexible solar panels. Mr. Decaluwé has a keen interest in the industrial and technological developments within the solar industry and brings a wealth of experience in international business, strategy and corporate governance to his role on the Origis Energy Board of Directors.
Mr. Hendrik Deruyck
Mr. Hendrik Deruyck
Hendrik Deruyck is a global business leader who most recently served as the Chief Executive Officer of Balta Group, a Belgian conglomerate and major European carpets and rugs manufacturer. During his business career, he has worked with diverse multinational companies including Arthur Anderson & Co. and Jaritex, a bedding firm he later sold. In addition to his role as an Origis Energy Director, he is the managing Director of Sv Zulte Waregem, the Belgian premier league soccer team and serves on the board of the social enterprise WAAK, creating sustainable and adapted employment opportunities for people with working disabilities. Hendrik Deruyck is also a judge at the court of commerce in Kortrijk, Belgium.
